Performance Indicators

This information relates to the Assessor’s performance in maintaining the Valuation Roll and Council Tax List together with details of staff costs and number of staff employed. Details of targets for the forthcoming year are also included. The indicators used are those agreed with the Scottish Executive.

The time periods referred to relate to the time between the actual date of completion of physical property changes or the completion of new properties, and the date of issue of a Valuation Notice by the Assessor. Undue delay between these dates affects the time available for the payment of bills by Council Tax and Rates payers.

Annual Performance Reports

Since 2005/06 full Annual Performance Reports have also been prepared, giving additional background information in respect of the above indicators and providing further information in relation to the Assessor’s activities during the year. These reports are available at the following links.

Customer Satisfaction Survey

In 2006/7, as part of the Board’s commitment to Best Value, a Customer Satisfaction Survey was introduced, with questionnaires randomly issued to ratepayers, council tax payers and electors who had made contact with the department during the year. A full report on this survey has been produced and is available via the following link.
